This is a one minute demo reel showcasing highlights from a few of my projects that I created during my year at Vancouver Film School as well as some of the videos I created in the decade prior to attending VFS. Now that I've graduated with a Digital Design diploma with Honours I am looking for freelance or full time work in video production.
If you mouse over each photo you can learn more information about each segment featured in the demo reel.
This is the new Collins logo that I created for Developing Your Personal Brand, one of the many courses I took while I was enrolled in the Digital Design program at Vancouver Film School. Here is a link to the page showing my development process.
This is a short time lapse video I shot after the summer fireworks festival in Vancouver a few years ago.
While time lapse videos can be very time consuming and frustrating to create, when they work it's great.
This is one of my favourite shots from the music video I created with Canadian singer / songwriter BronweN.
You learn about the process of creating the music video and see the finished video for Eden under PROJECTS.
My first video project at Vancouver Film School was a commercial that looked at who might be profitting from the H1N1 flu scare. The video called Greensleeves can be viewed on my page at Vimeo.
The favourite part of creating my first Vancouver Film School video called Greensleeves was animating this still photo to make it look as though the pig was singing. It was also interesting writing, singing and recording the multi-tracked jingle.
When I'm Sixty Four is a title sequence that I modelled and animated in 3D for a prosepctive half hour television sitcom. The series revolves around a 64 year old woman who is forced to reinvent herself after her husband dies.
My favorite part of the title sequence for When I'm Sixty Four is when the character known as The Captain dies. I like the way I animated him hitting the cake which leads to his wife sliding down and tettering on the edge.
As we were in a tight turn over the water just south of White Rock's beaches I got my first unobstructed view of the SE5a replica from the Canadian Museum of Flight.
In addition to the clips featured in this demo reel I also have some stop motion sequences which will be seen in my next demo reel. Other work can also be found under the PROJECTS heading on the menu bar.
